Every year, more than 15,780 children are diagnosed with cancer in the United States. Families who care for a child with cancer incur considerable costs during the diagnostic, treatment, and follow-up care phases of the battle. At the same time, parents must juggle other family responsibilities, including rent, mortgages, utilities, and other daily and monthly bills.
During Leah’s many hospital stays, we encountered parents tearfully watch their child struggle with cancer’s many side effects. Our hearts ached as we watched them leave their child’s bedside to return to work, needing to pay bills and continue insurance coverage. Many of them were heads of single-family households.
Here is where we work with our cherished sponsors to offer in-kind donations to help offset the day-to-day challenges that our families face.
